Changes in School Funding

With the implementation of the Local Control Funding Formula (LCFF), big changes are taking place in how California funds schools.  The shift is from treating school funding as “input to support students” to “resources that are linked to performance expectations.” Under this new funding formula, school districts will also be subject to new rules for transparency and accountability, which include creating – with input from parents and the community – and adopting a Local Control Accountability Plan (LCAP) that lays out how the district will spend the funds.
This issue of Focus On provides links to the latest news and resources to help districts in their implementation of LCFF and LCAP.

Focus on… is published periodically and provides you with links to topics of current  interest.
